Chewbacca Becomes a Character on Star Wars: The Clone Wars

Chewbacca Joins The Clone Wars Chewbacca, Han Solo’s right hand Wookie, will be appearing in the two part season finale of The Clone Wars on Cartoon Network. The episodes titled “Padawan Hunt” and “Wookie Hunt” will air on April 1.In the episodes, Chewbacca will encounter Ahsoka Tano who is young padawn or apprentice to the future Darth Vader, Anankin Skywalker. In preparing for these episodes, LucasFilm Animation went right to the source, actor Peter Mayhew who had portrayed Chewbacca in all three original Star Wars movies as well as one of the prequel films. The 7 foot 3 Mr. Mayhew did not have to don his costume to reprise the role this time.
