Christmas Costumes Helpful Hints

From Santa to the Elves to Sexy Miss Claus and all of the reindeer, there is nothing more fun than dressing up in Christmas costumes for parties, caroling and other events with friends and family. Who you choose to dress up is your own personal choice; however there are several things that you always have to keep in mind when choosing Christmas costumes:

Quality

No one likes to see a ratty Saint Nick so if you cannot buy at least mid line quality, skip this costume choice. Santa Claus is the epitome of the season so skimping on the costume will not cut it. Cheaper costumes are available so you can be someone or something else instead. If you can afford a good quality Santa costume, consider it an investment you will use for many years to come. Most of the Christmas costume choices will come in several price ranges- the cheaper you go, the shorter you can plan on having it.

Accessories

Each of the Christmas costumes have accessories that can make or break the look. After all, without the white beard and wig Santa is just a guy in red pajamas and an elf without pointy shoes is well, Peter Pan. Opt for accessories and remember that great add ons can take a ho hum costume to something spectacular faster than Rudolph’s’ nose can blink.

Make up and finishing touches

Most of the Christmas costumes will need some finishing touches from the rosy glow of Santa’s cheeks to the flirty lashes of Sexy Miss Claus. Angels glow with a little shimmering body powder and elves can twinkle with a blast of glitter. Make sure that you make your look as perfect as possible by adding the makeup and other finishing touches that take it from okay to stunning.

Finally, when it comes to Christmas costumes the choice that you make should reflect at least part of your personality. If you are a grumpy old thing and you growl at the neighborhood children much of the year, then go as Scrooge or the Grinch. If you are a happy soul then be Santa or an Elf. You know that you have picked the wrong one if everyone snorts and laughs when you walk in, so be careful with your choice!
