Jingle Bell Christmas in an Elf Costume

Everyone knows the story of Santa Claus. He brings toys to all the children of the world on one magical night, but he does not do it alone. Magic reindeer help him make the trip through the starry skies. A magic bag ensures that his supply of toys and gifts never run out. And all of these toys are created in a workshop filled with laughter and wonder, run by the elves. If you feel that you are as busy as a little elf this holiday season, why not dress as one?

The most traditional of elf costumes are green, of course and have a tunic and tights. Little girl elves may get a flouncy skirt in some looks, however the elf costume can be worn by both genders without a lot of difference between the two. The best part of the elf costume is the hat. Or, maybe it is the shoes. Maybe it is best to say that the best parts of the elf costume are the hats and the shoes. The hat is pointy, sometimes with a cute little part that flops over, but not always. Adding jingle bells to the hat makes them even more festive and fun. The shoes, available in a wide variety of sizes, are curled at the end and again, jingle bells make them all that much more fun to wear. You create a delicate song every time that you move!

Another special touch you can add to the elf costume is a pair of pointy ears, however for the little ones, this might not be very comfortable. Makeup for the elf look should be light and impish- with a little extra blush in the cheeks and maybe a little glitter sprinkled here and there. After all, how do you think that the elves manage to make all of those toys and still be merry? That’s right, its’ magic.
