Cowgirl Costume
It’s time for us to discuss the cowgirl costume; a favorite of my best pal and a good lil’ cowpoke in her own right, Jaa. Whether you are a city girl, born and bred or you were born in the saddle, the cowgirl costume is one of the cutest looks that you can find for your Halloween or dress up party fun. You can be a cute little cowgirl or a sexy cowgal and really round up all the little doggies in the room.
Starting with the Dress
Okay, we could have gone head to toe, but the two most obvious parts of the cowgirl costume are the hat and the boots, so let’s work on the middle section. If you are going for a cute cowgirl look, opt for lots of fringe and slightly longer skirts. A flouncy crinoline under a denim skirt is always a cute touch as well. The blouse should be gingham checked and in your favorite color. For a sexier look, opt for a shorter skirt and if you are really daring, skip the blouse altogether and wear a tight, buttoned vest alone instead.
The Accessories
Of course, the cowgirl costume is not complete without the right hat and boots. If you want to be a good girl, follow the code of the Old West and wear a white hat. A black hat could mean that you are a bad girl. Make sure that there are cute touches added to your cowgirl hat though to set you apart from anyone else who might be wearing a cowgirl costume as well. Jaa likes a little touch of sparkle on her cowgirl hat, so she glues rhinestones on the hatband. I like a little more simple touches, so I have replaced the hat band with a wide strip of satin in my favorite color (emerald green, baby) and tied a little bow in the back.
What good or bad cowgirl would ever show up without good cowgirl boots? Continue the look of the good girl with cute cowgirl boots. If you want to ramp up the sex appeal, opt for a higher heel on your boot. Yee haw!
