The Queen of Hearts, She Baked Some Tarts

Queen of Hearts Costume

Think of the story of Alice in Wonderland. Yes, you must have Alice or the story will kind of have no meaning, but you also have to have the wicked Queen of Hearts for the tension and drama. After all, what is a story without the tension and drama? There are two versions of the Queen: the sexy and the amusing. No matter which style you prefer, don’t forget to add many, many hearts to your look, from the top of your head to the shoes that you wear.

The Queen of Hearts Costume starts with a red, black and white dress. The length of your skirt will depend on your personal style: if you are a flirty little Queen of Hearts, go with the shorter skirt, but if you are more of a regal Queen, then your skirt should be a little longer. If it has been a long while since you have seen Alice in Wonderland, watch the movie so you can see the costume in action as well as learn some of the Queen’s mannerisms. You can also pick up some of her best lines, including “Off with her head.”

There are two choices with the sexy Queen of Hearts Costume, you can make your own or you can buy one from your favorite costume shop. No matter what option you go with, don’t forget the accessories and add hearts to everything. If you opt for a ball gown version for instance, you can add pretty hearts in red, black and white that can be removed so that you can use the gown for other things as well.

If you are opting for the card version of the Queen of Hearts, it is a simple costume to make. Start with a large box, cutting out the front and back. Using a playing card as a template draw the Queen card on the cardboard. Attach the two pieces together with ribbon. Your clothing should be black leotards under the two pieces of cardboard.

One Response to The Queen of Hearts, She Baked Some Tarts

  1. Wow who would have thought of dressing up as a sexy Queen of Hearts. Surely to steal away all the hearts of the guys at the party. This is an awesome idea. It really gets tough when such fancy dresses are held so frequently and you put up all your efforts at stake to dress out of the ordinary, something different from the crowd and never before been worn by anyone. Such blogs are so creative and support in deciding what to wear to these parties. Thank you so much
