Choosing a Good Halloween Adult Costume

What makes a good Halloween Adult Costume? Is it buying the most expensive top of the line costume from the fanciest shop in town? Is it the satisfaction of knowing that you saved countless amounts of money by buying at a bigger shop or even more by buying online? Is it the personal sense of accomplishment that comes from sewing your own costume, stitch by stitch? Or, is it something more- something deeper and a little more profound than any of these?

It technically does not matter where you buy it, a good Adult Halloween Costume is not about the name on the tag or the material it is made from; it is about the person inside of the costume, the person that the costume allows you to become. If you have found a good costume for you, then you will feel like a wholly different person for that night, whether it is a good change or a bad change is up to you and the costume itself.

A good Halloween Costume allows you to slip out of your button down, hum-drum life just for a little bit and be a little more adventurous, mysterious, menacing or amusing. You do not have to be boring old Phil from accounting, you can be Superman. You do not have to be the lady that bakes the dreadful cookies that never sell at any of the PTA bake sales; you can be Glamoura, the most beautiful enchantress or even Cleopatra. It does not matter who your day to day says that you are- you can be anyone that you want to be.

Finding a good Halloween Costume should start with taking inventory of the you that people see every day and the you only you know is under your skin. You know the one- the you that seethes to tell off that horrid neighbor or to shout at your boss that you cannot take it any longer and that changes are going to be made!

Buying a good Halloween Adult Costume should not feel like a chore or some task that you have to do because you promised or reluctantly agreed to- it should feel exciting. You should feel like a child again- going to buy your costume and thinking of all of the possibilities. And think of it this way- this time there will be no one to tell you that you cannot have the one of your choice because even though you feel like a kid again, you are an adult!
